Respect

Inspiration, Writing

Okay bare with me, this could get a bit preachy…

One month into 2017 and I have learnt so much. This is honestly surprising to me because I came into this year thinking that I was pretty much set on understanding how to deal with things and life and what not. Hahahaha no joke, this past month has been a damn rollercoaster! I partially blame this on midterms and all the stress I’ve been feeling but at the same time, I think that this was the universe or something sending me some type of wake up call.

Two of the things that I was conflicted this month were respect and confidence, or lack thereof rather. I’ll make a separate post about confidence but in this one, I want to focus on respect and how truly, fucking fundamental it is.

Update

Life

Hey Guys! This post is pretty insignificant and doesn’t really have a purpose other than to just let you guys know what’s been up, where I’ve been and so on…

So today I pretty much caught up on all of the school work I didn’t do enough of this summer and chilled a bit. I can’t really say that it was a good day because I’ve actually felt quite shitty since lunch time or something… idk the universe is testing me or something hahaha, I just had absolutely no motivation to do anything and wasn’t very productive (I didn’t leave the house once).

The worst part/another reason why I’m writing this post is because about an hour ago when I opened by blog with the intention to write my long overdue Italy posts I realised that all of my photo’s were deleted from my posts and couldn’t be restored. As you can imagine that’s really not something I needed to add on to my bad day and freaking sucked. I really do put a lot of effort into my posts and pictures and actually contemplated deactivating my entire blog for a while hahah. Either way I sucked it up and did my best to re-upload all of the pictures that were deleted… I didn’t manage for all of them though so I also deleted quite a few of my previous posts *cries*. That also explains why some of the posts may look a bit different and slightly worse done… It’s because I had to redo them, I’m sorry. Because of this I’ll also need you guys to bare with me with the rest of my posts (I have a lot planned) because they may take a while.

I’ve also almost used up the free 3 gb of data you’re given on WordPress for free and since I now know you can’t delete photo’s from there without also deleting them from your posts… and I’m too broke to pay for an upgrade (I’m 500 euro in debt but that’s a story for another time) I have no idea what I’m going to do when I use it all up *cries some more*

On a slightly less negative note, I got back from Europe on the 17th (2 days ago) and since then I’ve pretty much just been chilling and preparing for school which starts on the 23rd (god save me please). I’m not jet lagged at all though so that’s good 🙂

Yesterday I also randomly decided to cut my own hair a lot shorter. So in just one month my hair has gone from my belly button, to just on top of my boobs (which I kept for a week even though I loved it), and now a lot shorter to my shoulders… very daring and slightly stupid because I’m pretty sure I didn’t cut it very evenly hahaha #reckless. I like it though, it’s very different for me because I’ve pretty much always had long hair but it’s something different and change is always good so let’s just see how I like it in a few weeks (not that I can do anything about it then either lol)

I’m also starting IB very soon so that’s also pretty scary and I’m not really sure how ready I am hahah. I’m most nervous for Japanese which fucks me over every time tbh :’). My HL’s (Higher Level Subjects) are Art, History and English in case you were wondering.

New York 2: Soho and The Statue of Liberty

Travel

My second day in New York was spent shopping and walking around Soho, getting burnt at the top of a open-roof bus, skimming through books in a vintage store and seeing the statue of Liberty, this was one of my favourite days without a doubt.

New York 1: Times Square and Central Park

Photography, Travel

I’m really overdue writing this because I actually got back from New York this morning (yes, the jet lag is pretty intense) but I couldn’t go to the city of my dreams and not blog it. So, here’s how I spent my first day and the morning after in The Big Apple. I also tried something a little new with my pictures. Enjoy!

I Want To Travel

Travel

I want to travel

But I don’t think anyone understands

I want to wander at four in the morning, through the streets of Moscow

I want to wake up on a roof,

In the middle of New Delhi

Stand on a balcony and sip tea, without clothes, on top of Sweden

Roam through a bazaar in Istanbul

Cry because I am free, beneath Germany

Kiss an elder on her cheeks in Czech

Smoke a cigarette while laying in the tub in the Alps

Read a book in a small cafe around Portugal

Swim through the reefs of New Zealand

Wash my hair in a hostel of England

Dance with the laughing people of Africa

Feed sushi to another in Tokyo

I want to make love to you,

Deep within Spain

I want to travel

Words to live by…

Inspiration

1. People will promise to never leave you. They will. It’s okay to be sad when they do.

2. It is always okay to cry. Always. Find a bathroom, bury your face in your pillow, and let it out. Cry in the shower. Cry in the car. Cry when you need to.

3. Boys will flirt with you for a while and then ignore you. Then, they will flirt with you some more. It will be confusing. You have every right to stop putting up with it.

4. Pay attention to what people say when they’re angry. When you make up and they tell you they didn’t mean any of it, know that they did. Also know that they wish they didn’t. Forgive them.

5. Never pretend to be someone you’re not. If you don’t like tea and classic novels, don’t act like you do to impress people. If you don’t want to wear leather jackets and combat boots, don’t wear them to please someone else.

6. People will be mean to you; they will spread lies, call you names, and talk about you behind your back. Eventually you will realise that it is petty and stupid and not worth your time. You’ll be right. Move on with your life.

7. Your friends will not always be there for you. When you really need to talk, they will sometimes not want to hear it. That’s okay. Take a deep breath and remember all the times you felt the same way. Exhale.

8. You will wait and wait and wait for relationships. The anticipation will kill you. You will keep trying to find the right person in everyone you meet. Relax. There’s no rush. The best things happen unplanned.

9. Tell people how you feel. It will be terrifying in some cases and gratifying in others. It will create relationships and ruin them. But speak your mind, even if your voice shakes, because your thoughts may never otherwise be heard.

10. Sleep.

11. Talk to people. Talk to your sister about the guy she likes. Talk to your mom about her childhood. Talk to your dad about his favorite books. Talk to your grandparents about their families. Talk to your friends, talk to your pets, talk to the cute waitress at the restaurant.

12. Always bring a sweater. Even if you think it won’t be cold.

13. Try new things. Eat new food, try a new kind of juice, switch up the way you dress. You never know what you might end up loving. Life can get boring.

14. Take care of yourself. Wash your hair with that good smelling soap you love. Eat fruits and vegetables. Drink lots of water. Go for long walks in pretty parks.

15. School is important. Try your hardest. If you don’t get something, ask for help. Do your homework. Show your teachers that you’re willing to work hard, and when it comes time to apply to colleges, you’ll be glad you did.

16. There will always be someone prettier, smarter, funnier, or more popular than you. The beauty of it is that it isn’t a competition.

How to get shit done

Inspiration, Uncategorized

As we get older, school gets harder and more demanding. Free time is a rare luxury, your bed becomes your best friend, and coffee becomes more and more of a motivation to be productive. I know for a fact that I’m not the only one that feels like this and I’m possibly the biggest procrastinator ever and am also super lazy. Don’t get me wrong though, I know how to get stuff done, well and efficiently… eventually hahah. Here’s how…

Fall and Winter Music

Uncategorized

Music is a huge part of my life, I’m ALWAYS listening to it, on the way to school, in school while researching, at home while I’m doing homework, while cleaning, while attempting to cook, while showering, while dancing around in my underwear and so on hahah. I literally have playlists to listen to depending on my mood and I love them. Here they are.

Fall Inspiration

Uncategorized

September, October and November are the best… Clean crisp air, leaves, blankets, halloween, tea, fuzzy socks and so much more, you get the drift. Kinda cringing that I just listed the most basic and stereotypical aspects of fall, but don’t deny it, they’re all true and amazing. Here’s what I’ve loved so far and what’s been inspiring me this season.

Long Weekends and Productivity

Uncategorized

Some days you wake up and know that you’re not gonna get a single shit done, and some days you wake up feeling like you can turn water into wine… feel me? hahaha today was one of those days for me. I’m the type of person to leave things to the last minute which isn’t very admirable but hey, if you get it done and do it well does it even matter when you did it? Here’s how I spent my day actually being productive.
