What’s Up (part 1) – No Motivation & Sleep deprivation

Basically just what’s going on in my life at the moment: How I’ve been dealing with school (IB Y1), working out, early birthday surprises, recklessly cutting my own hair (again!) and some random recent pictures.

Currently: Listening to Saved by Khalid, working on this blog post while I should be writing the essay I have due tomorrow and haven’t started :~)

Okay so first of all, I can’t believe that January is already over and it’s already February! I feel like from this point on the school year just goes by so quickly… At least I hope so, my motivation is non existent right now.

It was Valentines day a few days ago and as usual, I was as single as ever hahahah, it’s fine though, even if I did have a date, I probably wouldn’t even have the time to go out, just felt like any other day to be honest… I did get some surprise chocolate though hehe, like I already mentioned I had this huge essay for English Lit due that my teacher assigned a week earlier along with two other big projects, I literally started writing it at 11 pm the night before it was due. YAY. It actually turned out pretty good in the end though – goes to show that it doesn’t matter when you start as long as you get it done hahahah. Just kidding, sleep, being stress free and ahead of the game feels so much better. I go through phases where I’m just killing it with my organization and responsibilities, but then there’s weeks like last week where I just ate like shit and got nothing done :’). I feel like this is something that all IB students understand. I also just finished my midterms and ohhh god, they were so hard. I legit survived on redbull and coffee.. I needed like a week to recover and catch up from sleep because of them hahah, So glad they’re over.

Christmas with the Barth’s

Life, Travel

Perk of being Eurasian: Celebrating the traditional holidays from both of your cultures. #mixedkidlife

Eid in the summer and Christmas in the winter, and I am DEFINITELY not complaining. I spent Christmas this year with my family in Germany and it was (as usual), filled with presents, good food, family, champaign, smiles, and good conversation. You can read last year’s post here.

So traditionally, I don’t actually really celebrate Christmas. When I’m here, in Heidelberg, however, I go all out. I can confidently say that this year I was part of the Christmas hype and first hand witnessed the stress of Christmas shopping (or in my case creating), decorating the Christmas tree, baking Christmas cookies, and even singing Christmas carols… even though we sounded awful.

My Space

Inspiration, Life

Whats in a room? If you still live with your parents (like I do) then your room is the one place YOU have complete control over. It’s where you escape the clatter of the kitchen, sound of the TV and the voices of other people. It’s where you go to chill, unwind, dance around naked and essentially sleep. My point is that it’s yours to do whatever you want in/with it. Might as well make the very best out of it.

The Pictures I took while I was lost in Osaka

Life, Photography, Travel

I spent last weekend in Osaka, mostly to renew my German passport but also just to spend a day chilling in the city. It was a new place for me and is quite a bit bigger than Fukuoka… that plus my poor orientation skills aren’t really a good combination, so I was lost like 90% of the time I was alone hahah… Thankfully I got to meet up with friends who knew what they were doing for most of the day. I had such a good time and definitely want to go back soon.

Fukuoka Diary 1

Hey! So this Saturday me and Jo went out to Tenjin and basically window shopped, ate kebab and looked for art supplies (IB HL art life), a pretty typical Sar and Jo outing and nothing special but I thought I’d upload some of the pictures we took. I think I’m gonna do this more often too cause I know I’ll thank myself after I leave Japan that I took all of these photo’s and captured all of these memories hehe. This is pretty much an average day in my life with my best friend, take a closer look into my life and see some more of Fukuoka. Reunited in Sweden // Photo Gallery

Luleå, Sweden was the last travel stop of my summer and I had the most amazing time. Me and my best friend since seventh grade reunited and it was like we never separated. We had so much fun and are already planning next years ‘meet up’ haha.

We swam in the cold lake right outside of her house, even though it was 12 degrees and cloudy outside (10/10 summer) lay topless in sauna’s, went kayaking and canoeing, cuddled with the dog, cooked, baked, ate… a lot, went bowling, went shopping, and so much more… We also finished all of the Saw movies, which I would definitely reccomend to everyone with a strong stomach because they’re surprisingly actually so good hahah

Here’s my week of amazing memories in some pictures. Enjoy!

Found this on tumblr and thought it would be interesting to answer. Take a closer look into my life and find out some random things about me. leggo.

Italy 4: Rome

As I said in my previous posts, we spent a day in Rome while staying in Florence since it was just an hour away by train. So we got up reallllyyy early, ate breakfast, then got onto the train that would take us to the capital.

Without any exaggeration I can honestly say that I want to live in Rome. The people, the scenery, the city itself, and just the entire atmosphere was so beautiful and just felt perfect.

Sweden Video

Hey guys! So as I’ve said previously, I got back from Sweden, visiting one of my best friends around two weeks ago, while I was there I obviously took tons of pictures and even made a video. Before I post all of the pictures I took I’m going to show this first. Enjoy!

I had a truly amazing time and I think you can see that in these five minutes. It was seriously so hard to compress all of the footage I had and even more so to try and cram all of the memories we made into just a little video, either way I’m pretty proud of it and am missing summer break like crazy already.

Italy 3: Florence

Okay so I finally fixed most of the problems I was having with my blog and computer and am actually feeling pretty good!… Even though today was my first day of school and I’m already procrastinating. Anyway, here’s my long overdue post from Florence.

Florence was another absolutely amazing city. It actually reminded me a lot of Heidelberg so it felt very home-y hahah. We stayed in Florence for three nights which is actually the longest we spent in one city on that trip. On the first day we walked up this hill to see the whole view of the city, got ice cream and visited all of the other touristy sites like the Duomo, statues, and so on.
