Recent must-haves this spring.
American Teen, Khalid
There was point in time where this album was ALL I played. I would list my favorite songs but I would just end up listing the whole album. Khalid has absolutely killed me with his voice
Pair Acne Cream
I have my best friend to thank for introducing me to this product. I don’t actually have acne but had a few pretty bad pimple scars in around March that are now practically gone thanks to this. This stuff gets rid of pimples completely in a day or two and fades pimple/acne scars perfectly. It’s also so affordable and lightweight.
Basically just what’s going on in my life at the moment: How I’ve been dealing with school (IB Y1), working out, early birthday surprises, recklessly cutting my own hair (again!) and some random recent pictures.
Currently: Listening to Saved by Khalid, working on this blog post while I should be writing the essay I have due tomorrow and haven’t started :~)
Okay so first of all, I can’t believe that January is already over and it’s already February! I feel like from this point on the school year just goes by so quickly… At least I hope so, my motivation is non existent right now.
It was Valentines day a few days ago and as usual, I was as single as ever hahahah, it’s fine though, even if I did have a date, I probably wouldn’t even have the time to go out, just felt like any other day to be honest… I did get some surprise chocolate though hehe, like I already mentioned I had this huge essay for English Lit due that my teacher assigned a week earlier along with two other big projects, I literally started writing it at 11 pm the night before it was due. YAY. It actually turned out pretty good in the end though – goes to show that it doesn’t matter when you start as long as you get it done hahahah. Just kidding, sleep, being stress free and ahead of the game feels so much better. I go through phases where I’m just killing it with my organization and responsibilities, but then there’s weeks like last week where I just ate like shit and got nothing done :’). I feel like this is something that all IB students understand. I also just finished my midterms and ohhh god, they were so hard. I legit survived on redbull and coffee.. I needed like a week to recover and catch up from sleep because of them hahah, So glad they’re over.
Hey! As a lot of you probably know, I spent my winter break in at home in Heidelberg, Germany. Only slightly biased ( 😉 ) but it’s the most beautiful city in the world and I love it with all my heart. If you’re ever in Germany, please go check it out, it’s so underrated, and I promise, you won’t regret it. I wasn’t too lucky with the weather this trip, (hence all of the fog) but I’m still so happy with how these pictures turned out. I’ll link some posts of my previous trips there below.
Here are some very long overdue pictures I took while I was there in December, Enjoy! ❤
The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes this morning was the clear blue sky. I was instantly in a better mood… that and of course the fact that I’d be spending my weekend doing something other than school work. On this day, Jo and I decided to explore Fukuoka a little more and go to places we hadn’t been before.
Happy New Year!
I think it’s safe to say that 2016 was my year. Looking back, I don’t have any regrets and I’m heading out with a smile. Let’s hope 2017 is even better. Here’s a recap of my year.
Woke up, made my self a smoothie, showered and got ready to Ed Sheeran. Literally could not wait to get out of the house and meet up with my best friend after 4 days of being trapped at home. A few minutes past 10, Jo came over to drop her things for the night and we left the house. Camera’s at hand, arm in arm, we made our way downtown. With the intention of Christmas shopping we spent (literally) 9 hours in the city wandering around, thrifting, eating, sitting in the park and visiting a local shrine.
“Shit. What happened to starting early?” Was the start of the productive part of our day on this particular sunny Tuesday morning. By this point (around 11 am) Jo and I had rolled around in our makeshift beds in the TV room, made and eaten pancakes with raspberries and finished the movie we (me mostly) dozed off while watching the night before.
As IB art students, creative photoshoots are a huge part of our friendship, she models for me, I model for her.. That’s how it works hahaha (see more here). Anyway, on this day, Jo wanted to take some polaroids and also take some pictures of me with sakura flowers she painted on my face. Even though we kinda rushed through this whole thing, I’m actually so in love with how the pictures turned out. She’s seriously so talented.
Perk of being Eurasian: Celebrating the traditional holidays from both of your cultures. #mixedkidlife
Eid in the summer and Christmas in the winter, and I am DEFINITELY not complaining. I spent Christmas this year with my family in Germany and it was (as usual), filled with presents, good food, family, champaign, smiles, and good conversation. You can read last year’s post here.
So traditionally, I don’t actually really celebrate Christmas. When I’m here, in Heidelberg, however, I go all out. I can confidently say that this year I was part of the Christmas hype and first hand witnessed the stress of Christmas shopping (or in my case creating), decorating the Christmas tree, baking Christmas cookies, and even singing Christmas carols… even though we sounded awful.
I love the fall. The past few weeks have seriously been so beautiful in Fukuoka even though the temperature has dropped like crazy and it’s become impossible for me to leave bed every morning. Last week especially, the leaves were all in different colors and the sun was shining almost every day. Obviously I had to take some pictures so here they are hahaha.
The night before, these pictures were taken, Jo and I went into the city for dinner and did some shopping then came home and just chilled… It was a pretty late night but as usual it was a great time filled with jamming to each others soundclouds and partying in our underwear. The next morning we lugged ourselves out of bed, made breakfast and ate it while watching ‘Bridget Jones Baby’ (so good btw) then head outside to the park.
Whats in a room? If you still live with your parents (like I do) then your room is the one place YOU have complete control over. It’s where you escape the clatter of the kitchen, sound of the TV and the voices of other people. It’s where you go to chill, unwind, dance around naked and essentially sleep. My point is that it’s yours to do whatever you want in/with it. Might as well make the very best out of it.
